Join us as we cheer on VP of Sales, Brian Weaver, as he ventures out on a bike ride for a charitable cause in the coming months. Brian is actively involved with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and he’s raising funds for The Ride for Missing Children. The event is a 100-mile bike ride taking place on June 3rd starting in Buffalo, NY with stops at schools along the way to spread the word about NCMEC’s mission of child safety and abduction prevention.
Funds raised support the missing children poster distribution and community prevention education programs.
History of NCMEC and The Ride – In 1984, John & Revé Walsh & other child advocates founded the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as a private, non-profit organization.
The NCMEC website states, “What started as a small group of bicyclists that hoped to raise awareness for the plight of one missing child has grown into the biggest annual fundraiser for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.” The bicycles are a tribute to Sara Anne Wood, who was walking her bike home from attending church in Frankfort, NY when she was tragically abducted and murdered in 1993.
