NSA provides custom programming to adapt to your changing requirements.

NSA's Software Integration Center provides a variety of services. These include simple and complex modifications, performing upgrades, as well as providing specialized programming services. As the customer learns new applications or as business requirements change, additional enhancements may be needed.

Custom Programming Is A Multi-Step Process: The development of custom programs is considered a joint partnership, with both the customer and NSA personnel deeply involved in the process. To simplify an otherwise complex task, we recommend the use of a 5-step process for most custom programming:

1. The customer identifies a requirement for custom programming. NSA works with the customer in developing a detailed Programming Specification, which clearly identifies the required modification, scope of work, and database changes (if any).
2. The NSA Programming staff reviews the Programming Specification and develops an estimate (Work Order) for the amount of effort required for-custom programming, testing, debugging, installation, and implementation.
3. The customer approves and signs the NSA Work Order. Programming work is scheduled, then work begins. Whenever possible, our programmers take advantage of unique "Custom Program Hooks" and "Database User Fields" that enable future upgrades with minimal effort.
4. After programming and testing is completed, programs are placed in the customer's "test" environment. The customer is then notified when these programs may be tested by their organization.
5. The client tests the custom programs. NSA is informed that the custom programs are approved. Then, they are moved into the customer's "Live" directory. If needed, NSA staff provides end user training for complex modules or applications.

Third Party Interfaces: At times, customers have the need to interface Trend with auxiliary applications. NSA has been involved with developing interfaces with many custom and third party solutions, including: field service modules; custom billing; freight management; warehouse control systems; and third party warehouses.

Data Conversion: NSA assists its customers in converting data for use with Trend. Several standard data conversion programs are available. These programs take flat ASCII data files and convert the data into Progress database. Commonly used data conversion programs include:
