Job Management

A new SX.enterprise module, Job Management, will allow for quick entry of job “bidding” information and, if awarded, release of jobs to purchasing and ordering. It will also provide for change management (changes made to the original job throughout its lifecycle after the job has been released). Some features of this new module:

Job Management features include:

Simple job entry system - A Front-End Job Entry system allows the distributor to create contractor projects from a single interface point. A job to be started with a minimum of required data elements. Since a small portion of the jobs will actually result in awarded business, it is not necessary for the user to enter a great deal of information. Each unique job will be identified with as user-specified Job Identifier. This is an alpha-numeric field specified by the distributor to uniquely identify each job. Additional descriptive fields will be available to provide expanded information about each job. The system will generate a unique quote number that will be an alternative way of accessing the job.

Entry of lot-priced groups of line items - Since the prices quoted to customers may be “lot” priced, the user can select certain line items and manipulate these lines as a set. Alternatively, the system can track which line items were selected when a lot price operation was done so that the user does not have to keep track of which line items were selected.

Vendor quoting - The job management system allows vendor quotes to be solicited. There may be several vendors involved in a given job, so the system keeps track of the list of vendors at the line item level. A given vendor may provide cost quotes on the entire list of products or just part of the list.

Job release to purchasing/ordering – This creates a scheduled release for a job where the vendor’s shipments are direct order shipments to the contractor (customer). The system tracks multiple purchase orders back to the original job for billing and full item, quantity, and cost.

Change order processing - The distributor can make changes to the job, by making specific line item changes or creating a revision, at any time. However, the distributor may elect to change the job using a more formal “change order process”.

Job inquiry and analysis - This allows jobs to be located using different selection criteria and then most of the information for a given job can be displayed in inquiry mode. The sales orders and purchase orders that were created from a given job can be easily identified and viewed.
